Lake Mead National Recreation Area

Lake Mead has a special place in my heart. When I was 14 I was in the Boy Scouts and my troop and I canoed from Lake Mead to Lake Mojave, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. There were waterfalls, lightning storms, epic sunsets, rattlesnakes, seriously, a dream come true! There was action adventure, danger, what more could a 14-year-old kid ask for (pre-internet days). This poster design was inspired by that trip and getting to paddle out in the early morning when the water is all glassy. It was always beautiful to me how the canoes cut through the water causing ripples, leaving a temporary footprint for just our troop to follow.
